In the five months Dana Pope was with Keller Williams, she didn't close a single transaction. Since returning to RE/MAX in September, she has three Short Sale listings in escrow, one buyer under contract and two more listing referrals on her plate.
"I'm jammin' again," says Pope (CDPE), who was welcomed back to RE/MAX of Valencia with open arms by her colleagues, and especially the Broker/Owners of the brokerage in Valencia, Calif. "John and Alice were very understanding when I left, and when they learned I wasn't happy with the move I made they reached out. It felt great."
The 100 Percent Club member says she was "wooed" by Keller Williams in the spring, during a sensitive time in her life. Her mother had passed away, and Pope wondered if a change would help her heal.
"But it just never felt right," Pope says. "I didn't even change my voicemail message to say Keller Williams – I just couldn't do it."
She says her move back was more about her strong feelings for RE/MAX than any bad feelings she may have had about Keller Williams.
"Nothing beats the brand recognition and credibility of RE/MAX," Pope says. "I'm so proud to be a RE/MAX agent."
So proud, in fact, she persuaded another Keller Williams agent, Janet Mendenhall to move to RE/MAX with her. Mendenhall is new to RE/MAX altogether.,
"The camaraderie at RE/MAX is great," Mendenhall says. "I like having more training options, and it's great to see so many other agents taking advantage of it. I'm not completely on my own here."
Pope says her Keller Williams team leader asked what it would take to get her to stay.
"There was nothing they could do," Pope says. "I was stuck, and it was time to go back to where I belonged all along where I knew I would be able to regain my mindset for success."
